We took the liberty of putting together a little collection of some typical and iconic things you can find around Berlin. The list is as follows:
- Ampelmann, the iconic traffic crossing symbol
- Bikes, the only way to get around
- Club Mate, keeping Berlin awake 24/7
- Dog Poo, a daily hazard
- Electronic Music, to keep you entertained
- Fernsehturm, aka: The TV Tower
- Gidsy, helping you find things to do since 2011
- Hipsters, making what’s old new again
- Imbiss, for late-night eats
- Ja! The friendliest store-brand snacks in town.
- Kebap, the street food of champions
- Lattes, when you’re not quite ready for a Club Mate
- Museums, over 170 of them in Berlin!
- Neukölln, Berlin’s eighth borough.
- Obst & Gemuse, found at the city’s many farmers markets
- Photoautomat, Berlin’s famous old-school photo booths
- Quatsch! A word you might say if you stepped on letter D.
- Reichstag, aka: the German parliament
- Spätkauf, for late-night drinks
- Tempelhof, the coolest abandoned airfield/community space ever
- U-bahn, for when you can’t ride a bike
- Viktoriapark, for one of the best views of Berlin
- The Wall, the reminder of a city once divided
- Xberg, aka: Kreuzberg
- YAAM, the coolest beach bar in town
- Zoo, aka: Zoologischer Garten, Germany’s oldest Zoo
